Tanker

Just to keep things updated, here's a tanker ship I put together for the background of my opening shot.



Had to make the hull from scratch since it's surprisingly hard to find decent side-on shots of tankers. The upper deck is the chopped up bits of an oil rig.

Hell Or High Water Production

I've not updated this blog in a long while. I'm currently in production of my final year film, Hell Or High Water and for the last few weeks I've been working my fingers to the bone building the miniature set for the film.
Instead of building the island in 3D, which would probably be sensible I instead decided to whip out the old skillsets I hadn't used in a long time. Namely modelling making and a bit of carpentry.
I took a load of photos as I went which I'll post at a later date, but for now here's the fancy finish ones.

Another Collage

I guess you could call this image a collage considering it's the bare bones amount of things stuck together to make a collage (the boys were cut out and stuck to the background image).

Anyway I was putting together a website design with collage elements and I put this image together to go as the background of one of the sections. I liked it enough by itself to make it desktop wallpaper size.

2011 Animation Showreel

Finally got around to putting together an animation reel.

Another image of the barman and the bar.
I think I'm starting to get the hang of lighting and compositing. All my previous attempts of compositing the character into a scene have made him stand out like a sore thumb, but this is the first image where he gels nicely.
